Sam’s Bio:

Samuel Sprynczynatyk is a documentary filmmaker and has been working in film for over 15 years. He is a one man band and does all parts of the filmmaking process himself. In 2016 he made a film for a friend who was falsely accused of a crime and was facing 25 years in prison. “A Letter for Steve” helped raise awareness to the community and was a critical step in getting his friend released from prison. He then knew that he needed to focus mainly on documentaries that can impact others. “Welcome to Sleepy Hollow” is Samuel’s second feature length documentary.

Over the past four years Samuel has had his films seen in numerous festivals across the country and has won seven awards for his work.

In 2018 Samuel started on the Sleepy Hollow project and had two major heart attacks in one day and went in to cardiac arrest right as production began. He was in a coma for two weeks and hospitalized for two months. He spent the next four months learning how to walk again. During the process he also learned to use his fingers by editing on his computer and was finally healthy and strong enough to work on this project again in 2019. This film helped Samuel find his passion for film again and taught him that he could still make films like he used to.

FOOTLOOSE

July 22- 31, 2021

8:00pm

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage with exhilarating results. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town's youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend's rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated top 40 score (the soundtrack album reached number one on the Billboard charts and has sold over 15 million copies!) and augmented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical, FOOTLOOSE celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.
